Frequently Asked Questions
Below you will find common questions that may help to provide insight into therapy and the services offered at Cultivating Compassion Therapy. If there are any lingering questions or further inquiries that have not been addressed below, please don't hesitate to contact me.
What should I expect during our initial session?
Our first session is dedicated to understanding what brought you into therapy and what your goals are. This lays the foundation for tailoring your therapeutic journey. I'll engage in dialogue, asking questions to unravel your story and gather essential information. It's an opportunity for you to share anything that you believe will be valuable in your therapeutic journey.
Do you offer consultation calls?
Absolutely. I offer a complimentary 15-minute consultation call. This brief conversation allows me to outline my services, and it's a chance for you to address any queries you may have. If I assess that working with one another may not align with your specific needs, I'll be happy to suggest alternative potential referrals.
What if I'm new to therapy?
That's perfectly okay! Therapy doesn't require prior knowledge or experience. I encourage you to show up authentically so we can explore your goals during our time together. Your journey and progress are central to therapy. I firmly believe that clients are the experts in their own narratives, and therapy serves as a guiding force toward the changes you seek.
What are your fees?
My fees are structured as follows:
$140 per individual session (55 minutes)
$180 for an extended individual session (90 minutes)
$175 for a couples session (90 minutes)
Good Faith Estimate:
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your health care will cost. Under the law, Health care providers need to give patients who do not have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. This is called a Good Faith Estimate. For more information about the Good Faith Estimate, you can visit the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, which gives a brief overview of what it is.
What is your cancellation policy?
I kindly request cancellations be made at least 48 hours before the appointment. Cancellations or no-shows within 24 hours will incur a charge of $50.
Do you offer sliding scale fees?
I do offer sliding scale fees for lower-income clients or those who are experiencing financial challenges. I ask that you speak to me directly to learn more about this.
Do you accept insurance?
Presently, I only accept services to individuals insured by Kaiser (non-medicare), Cigna, and Humana. Those who are not covered through these insurances operate on a self-pay basis. However, I can provide a superbill for potential insurance reimbursement.
How frequently will we meet?
I generally recommend meeting at least biweekly to maintain momentum and foster progress. Consistency often correlates with noticeable changes within your therapeutic journey. Nevertheless, I prioritize your comfort and can adjust our meeting frequency as needed.
When will I know my treatment is complete?
Each treatment journey is unique. Some may require a few sessions, while others might extend over years. Our focus remains on your therapy goals. You have the liberty to end treatment upon achieving your desired outcomes. After 60 days of inactivity, I'll reach out to assess if continued services are needed.
Are there any restrictions on the clients you work with?
Currently, I do not work with individuals under the age of 18. Additionally, I exclusively work with clients physically residing in Colorado, where I hold my active practice license.
